I've been trying to read past posts to learn more about Hashimoto's and how others deal with it. As a former nurse, I don't know much about it.....only practiced for 5 years and that was 37 years ago. So much more is known and available now....and I have not kept up with it.....brain fog doesn't help either! My physician is young and up to date on much, seems to be relatively agreeable but I don't know what his thoughts are on natural remedies. He is after all, a traditionally trained doctor. Pills, pills, pills. Either way, my husband is retired and along with many others, our investments dropped into the basement and we can't afford anything that is not covered by the $900/month out of pocket premiums we pay. As a result, I feel stuck doing the standard medically suggested treatment but as I said in a previous post, am considering having my thryoid zapped or removed to get premanently regulated on synthroid. I live in Western PA, close to Pittsburgh which of course is loaded with large medical centers. I've done some breif research on specialists who deal with autoimmune diseases such as Hashimoto's but there again, they are probably treadionally trained doctors who don't usually  take the natural approach which I find myself leaning more toward. Any thoughts would greatly be appreciated.
Thank you for the great site.

Hello again,

Wow, that is a hefty premium you have. However, I can tell you that it costs me roughly under $400-$500 yearly to maintain my natural treatment. I go to a natural doctor specifically just to get the natural thyroid meds. (Naturethroid) I am focusing on emotional healing too now - mostly for free and seeing great results - at least emotionally. If my theory is correct, the body will eventually heal as the emotions are dealt with. I highly recommend this approach. You can find great material about energy healing, especially what is now my favorite form of emotional healing - Faster EFT. Here's a great place to learn about it:

It might take some work, but start looking around my main website and get a feel about what you feel comfortable pursuing using natural methods. Feel free to come back to the board and talk about different avenues. I have become fully immersed in the emotional healing realm because I believe this could be the root of most/all disease.

Hope this leads you closer to your answers.
