Does anyone here notice a difference in severity of symptoms from winter to summer?

For the second summer in a row I am feeling much better. Is it because of changes in treatment, healing, or an increase of exposure to the sun in summer (increase in Vitamin D production)?

Just wondering if others have had similar shifts in their health?

Hi Janet,

I've noticed for the last 4 springs I have been at my total WORST in symptoms. This spring was amazingly better but still had some symptoms in a much more minor way. I can't prove it, but I think there is a connection somehow with the seasons (whether it's higher body temperature which can make us run better) or spring allergies, barometer (high pressure), or something. I am currently trying to figure this out. We certainly think alike!

I'll let you know if I come up with anything on it but at the very least, I believe I was allergic to many of the spring environment until this year when I got my treatments done.

I just told my doctor I feel better (but I hate the heat) when it gets hot in the summer. Weird.

Maybe we're onto something. Is anyone else seeing these types of seasonal changes. I have bad springs and winters aren't much better, but summer and fall are usually quite good.

Hope others will chime in!

Just an "after-thought"... I've been interested in some time regarding seasonal diets. It appears that what we eat in the seasons can either raise or lower our body temperature. If it "jives" with the weather, it is supposed to help your body process the foods you put in. For example, in the winter, you are typically fighting the cold air which means your body is needed to work harder to keep up the higher body temperature and needs food to burn. Many people believe that storing meat and grain for the winter has been common for thousands of years and kept the people "running" through hard temperatures (think "little house on the prairie" if you've seen it), and in the summer, the foods of choice were more often vegetables and fruit while they were abundant which burn quickly, not "tieing up the system" for hours on end. Just a thought here.

Any comments?

Has anyone tried seasonal eating? I'm tempted to vary my diet slightly towards this idea. Winter (to me) has boring foods - I like the enzymes and freshness of summer crops but slow roasted root veggies can be good at times. I just don't like it regularly. I LOVE fresh foods regularly. What is fresh in the winter but root veggies?
