Hello everyone,

Okay, I told you I was going to reveal the treatment I am going to try for at least partial reversal of my Hashimotos Thyroiditis. (and hopefully better than that) Well, it's time! I am starting a series of treatments called NAET (basically an allergy elimination treatment) developed by a doctor in Southern California and practiced around the world. I heard from a friend in my area that an egg allergy of 18 years was resolved practically over night when going through the treatments. This got me to wondering once more about the connection between autoimmune disease (which is all about the body being allergic to itself) and plain ol' allergies. I will not comment on my theory yet because I am not a doctor but as a patient, I have a right to troubleshoot my own body, right? So, I am posting this and I might post some updates as I go to let everybody know that I am hoping there will be success in this course of action. If there is not, I will certainly post that too!

I know that one of the gals that used to post on our board went through the treatments and as far as I know, she had at least part success but since then, we have lost contact with her. I hope that means she was healed enough to go on with a normal life but I have no evidence to prove this of course. It's worth contemplating though.

So, I will be keeping a journal of this journey and IF things begin to look bright in the Hashimoto's arena with this treatment, I plan on posting my journey in the future for all to glean from. Is it wishful thinking? I don't know. BUT, I do know that a good attitude and faith have gone a long way when dealing with the symptoms of Hashimotos so I will continue as I have been... searching and hoping to find a way to reverse this disease!

If anyone would like to comment on this or wish me success, it would be great to hear from you. I know it's been quiet on this board lately due to the "newness" of the format, but I believe everyone will chime in as we go.

Please feel free to open up a NEW topic on the topic page. I look forward to hearing from you.

Thank you for the support. So far I am learning a LOT about how I've held emotions inside all my life. But also, I am really excited about some of the ways this treatment could help me. For example, I've never been able to be near a cat since I was very small. By next month, I should be ready for the treatment for cat allergies and should be able to get close to a cat without any negative reactions. I'll let everyone know the outcome.

Thanks for posting!

CAn someone tell me what NAET Treatment is about?

I have been taking Synthroid for 3 years for Hoshimoto's Thyroiditis.  My hair is falling out like crazy again.
I am so glad to have found this support group.  I need all the help I can get!!

I exercise, eat well.  I read about Hoshimoto's and end up a bit confused by what appears to be conflicting information.  I will be glad to read the posts here.

Hello Cactus,

It's a joy to have you here. I hope you will find much support. We are just "getting started" on this new board so please bear with us. We might be a little slower to get to the posts initially but once we get started, we can't stop! Smiley You might enjoy clicking the link at the top of the board on the right hand top that leads you to our "old" board. There is really TONS of information in past posts. I think you would find a lot of your questions being answered by reading them.

As far as NAET goes... it's a bit challenging to try to represent the treatment in one post but I will give you a link to help you study it through.

http://naet.com/

That might give you a start. In simple form, Hashi's tends to have a lot of emotional "ties" to flare ups and some (including me) think there is a possibility in some patients, that Hashi's could be emotionally induced thereby making emotions one of the key elements in healing. I have heard of NAET for a few years now and until now, I was concerned it might conflict with my religious convictions. BUT, after understanding the way the body works and they way the system can get "stuck" due to emotions, I became much more interested. I am presently very excited about the treatments. I have had about 10 now and expect to see the conclusion of the treatments by January. At that point, I will be releasing my journey through this process to the board or in a small eBook depending on the treatment's success. I am cautiously optimistic. There are so many allergies for Hashi patients to deal with, it just makes sense that allergies are right there at the "base" of this disease - especially since we KNOW that the thyroid is being attacked by the body. This tells me there is an "allergic reaction" going on. Because I am not a doctor, I can only speculate but after having this disease for so long, a patient can sometimes be better than a doctor - one has experience with the disease and one has experience with the books. I believe that the disease brings us closer to the cure when we live with it daily with determination to find the answer to the root of the disease. What a confusing sentence - but I think you know what I'm trying to say.

I hope you find a lot of good leads here. Hopefully others will join in on your post. Please consider making a new topic so others "meet" you. Smiley

Looking forward to getting to know you better!
