Hi Everyone,

I have been reading some of the posts.  Good to "see" that some of us are
here from the old forum.  It's just like running into an old friend again.

I have a question for you.  One of the syptoms of a hypothyroid
problem is being cold.  I am never cold.  I tend to wear summer clothes even in the winter unless it is extremely cold out.  I almost never wear a jacket or
a coat.

I have 2 friends who have thyroid problems and they are cold all the time.
I spent a couple of days with one in July and thought I would perish from the heat.  I was burning up and she was wrapped in a blanket.

I also read my post about getting back on my medication in June.  Well that
only lasted 2 weeks then I was off again.  I think I will take the Metabolic
Thyro I did for a few years and see if that makes any difference.  I don't feel bad
but I still have the weight issue...arrggg

Gerri, I was so pleased to hear how well you are doing.  Keep up the good work.

Hi Mo and Everyone!

Just checking in to say hello, and especially to check up on Mo. All I keep hearing about is the fires in  California!   Just reading about it is absolutely terrifing.    I can't imagine being in the area. Mo, are you safe and out of danger, away from the fires???  You are in my thoughts and I pray that you and your family are safe.  Please give us a shout when you can.

Hugs to all,
Gerri

Hi Gerri,

How sweet of you to think of me. Actually, the fires are mostly in Southern California for the time being so central California is being spared. However, my sister's house is close to one of the fast moving fires a couple days ago and almost needed to leave her home. The danger is a bit passed now and hopefully she will be able to breathe easier from now on. All of California could use some good rain though but after all these fires, a soaker could cause flooding so it will be best to see light rain many times during the season rather than loads of rain all at once. Hopefully, we will stay fireless here in the Sierras near Yosemite. Thanks for thinking of me! I'm doing well and hopeful with the treatment I am now receiving. Remember Mary going through the NAET treatment? I am beginning treatment and will know how much benefit it gives me over the next 2-3 months. Please say a prayer that I can report good news (hopefully life-changing news) in the next few months. I am looking forward to seeing changes. I'll post more as things move on.

How are you doing?

Hi Mo!

So glad to hear you are safe!!! It rained here today and I couldn't help but think why here and not California.  We sometimes have fires here in the Pine Barrens but California, well to say you are getting more than your fair share in an understatement.

I'm doing fine. Thanks for asking. I've joined a new program call the Trevose Behavior Modification Program http://www.tbmp.org/ and it's working. I'm down 11 + pounds. I'm doing Eat to Live and using the Trevose program for support. I really do need to be accountable to someone, so this seems deal.

I'm still on a combination of Armour and Unithroid with no complaints.

Do you remember the time I was so excited because I ran a 5K? Well I've switched over to walking since then, but I always dreamed of doing a marathon, and I'm on my way.  I'm walking the half-marathon in Philadelphia on November 18th. That's 13.1 miles. My goal is simply to finish.  If it all works out, my next dream is to walk the full marathon - 26.2 miles at Cincinnati's Flying Pig Marathon.  I know I won't have to explain why the  Flying "PIG" Marathon. LOL!  :-)

Good luck with the NAET program. I hope it works out. Let us know how it's going.

Again, so glad you are safe Mo!

Hugs to all,
Gerri

HI Gerri,

It brings tears to my eyes (good ones) to hear of your positive attitude! Thank you so much for sharing. I know you will do great in the marathon. I will be looking forward to an update on the accomplishment.

It sounds like behavior modification is a good portion of this battle to me too. Have you numbers (thyroid) changed since you've been doing this? Over time, I expect you will find even more success in this. Please keep me posting.

It's been great communicating again. Thanks so much. We all benefit from hearing of each other's stories.

Talk to you soon!

Hi Mo!

Thanks for the vote of confidence. I truly appreciate it. When we've struggled so much with this disease, it almost feels like a miracle when we see that light at the end of the tunnel. I don't think non-thyroid people really understand that. I think we just appear over emotional or less confident, or whatever the word is I'm trying to describe. :-)

I haven't had my numbers checked again yet. I've been in the Trevose program 4 weeks as of today, and not due for bloodwork until December.  Unless I'm having symptoms, I only have thyroid bloodwork twice a year now. I'll definitely post after the marathon, and give you an update on my thyroid numbers after I have my next blood draw.

GOD do I wish we would send you some of this rain we're having!!!  It rained today, and the forecast calls for rain again tomorrow and Saturday, and California is getting non of it. :-(  At this point you guys need it so much more than we do.

Take care,
Gerri
